intonasyon
Almanca "Intonation" kelimesi, "melodi" veya "tonlama" anlamına gelir ve konuşma veya müzikte seslerin yükselip alçalmasını ifade eder. Latince kökenli "intonatio" kelimesinden türemiştir. Genellikle konuşma dilinde anlam veya duyguyu iletmek için kullanılan ses tonundaki değişiklikleri tanımlar. Benzer kelimeler arasında "Melodie" (melodi) ve "Tonfall" (ses tonu, tonlama) bulunur; ancak "Intonation" daha çok bütün cümle ya da ifadelerdeki ses değişimlerini kapsar, "Tonfall" ise genellikle daha dar kapsamlı ses tonu vurgusudur.
